On upgrading to new offices, Smartcomm requested a cost effective, yet innovative solution to brighten their new environment, inspire employees and impress visiting customers.
Smartcomm are a quality brand so we improved the appearance of the existing unsightly trade style doors with an elegant and durable leather effect wrap. This was a considerable cost saving on replacement doors.
To grant employees privacy from visiting customers, we covered the existing glass walls with a bamboo scene print. Thus, bringing calm of nature inside and to tie in with existing natural tones within the office. The image was visible from both sides so we used an optically clear material to keep the image crisp.
We enhanced the five boardrooms offering privacy to those using the rooms and to comply with the DDA manifestation guidelines.
Our solution was a design series of stunning London scenes, combined with famous icons to offer each room a unique identity and name. After testing full frosting on the windows, we concluded a graduated approach, darker at the top, would give the desired privacy but still allow those inside to see out and reduce any feeling of claustrophobia.
The graphics were produced and installed to a careful timeline, working around the existing contractors to meet the target move date. The finished result has transformed the office adding colour and texture while resolving Smartcomm’s privacy needs.
